British Coast - Stage 043 - Tayport to St Andrews
26 November 2024. Starting a new front in this long, disjointed journey around the coast - coming up to Scotland, and the Fife coast. Setting out from Tayport with sunrise over the Tentsmuir forest, and the long walk down Tentsmuir Sands on a short but beautiful winter's day. The sun always low in the sky. The post-storm beach pushed into patterns, a deserted splendor about it. Eventually reaching the Eden Estuary, and getting caught between the water and the Leuchars airbase. From there, needing to work a way in-land, past the base, through Leuchars, over the Eden at Guardbridge, and then the long roadside walk into St Andrews itself. Arriving there just before the sun was setting. 18 miles.
